This wasp has been stuck in our house for about a week - my mom just noticed it today and asked if I wanted to take photos before she killed it, but then after attempting to put it outside (hence the towel) I decided against letting it freeze to death because I'm stupid for bugs or something. I don't know. I felt bad! It wasn't doing anything bothersome even if it is technically a pest with the potential to put a serious hurt on me. My reasoning was it flew in here to escape the cold, so I might as well let it live out its days in climate controlled housing. Which it is now doing, in a room where it won't freak anyone out if it decides to start flying again.
Jamie being a dog. We got her a new bed, so now she spends all her time in there not getting hair all over the couch! I tried something different with the photo editing this time since I didn't know what else to do with these. Not sure how I feel (which means I should keep trying).
Some photos from downtown St. Charles. The JPEG compression will probably make these look like ass, but whatever.
Pentax recently came out with an inexpensive 35mm F/2.4 lens which I'm definitely buying as soon as possible. This is exactly what I've been looking for in a general purpose lens (at least from something I can actually afford). It also comes in MAGICAL COLORS! Even though I won't buy a pink lens, it's awesome to know I totally could if I wanted to.
Next on my List of Things to Own Someday When I Have Money (So Basically Never): A DSLR that does HD video. Why take pictures of bugs when I can FILM THEM. My impossibly dark Ouija Board videos will be that much more spectacular. And videos of my dog being insane will look great on my parents' ridiculously large television. Yes, HD video is sure to make my life look sharper and clearer to the three people on YouTube who waste more time on the internet than I do.
